NATIONAL WILDFIRE PREPAREDNESS MONTH!

May is National Wildfire Preparedness Month in Oregon! Join friends and neighbors across the state and the nation by getting ready for fire season.

Residents of the Pine Creek Firewise Community held their second annual spring Firewise Day on May 2 - National Wildfire Preparedness Day. The Pine Creek Firewise Community is the first in Eastern Oregon.

The homeowners in Ritter, Upper Middle Fork, Monument, and Granite are in various stages of becoming recognized Firewise Communities!

Grant County will present "The Five Seasons: Living With Wildfire" a locally made and produced video at the National Firewise Conference in October. The Five Seasons can be viewed at: http://www.livingwithwildfire.com/Video.html

Residents around Grant County are actively involved in learning about the national Firewise Communities USA program. For more information email Irene Jerome at cwpp@grantcountycwpp.com or call 541.575.2210.
